Our public transportation system provides subways, buses, and streetcars for your convenience. Toronto also has approximately 10,000 taxi cabs and numerous car rental services available. Alternatively, walking the downtown core is highly encouraged with its many above and below ground walkways. The grid pattern above ground allows for quick and easy navigation, while the famous underground pedestrian PATH provides connections to attractions, hotels and other major destinations throughout the city, without ever having to go above ground!

Officially known as the Greater Toronto Transit Authority, the GO Trains and buses provide convenient transportation to the surrounding regions of the GTA. GO covers an 8,000-square km area (3,000-square miles) and connects with the TTC at Union Station. This is a quick and affordable way to get in and out of the city.

There are 69 subway stations and numerous bus and streetcar routes that connect to the subway and travel throughout the GTA. There are a total of 166 bus routes in Toronto, 83 of which are wheelchair accessible. The subway service runs from approximately 6am-1:30am Monday-Saturday and from approximately 9am-1:30am on Sundays and holidays. Ticket fares: Adults $2.75, Seniors (65+) $1.85, Children (5-12) $0.70
